The United Bank Of Africa (UBA) is undoubtedly one of the leading banks in Nigeria. Their banking innovations and creativity are top-notch. But, it’s not unexpected that you want to disable their Bumper Account.

The Bumper account is a replacement for the wrapped wise saver. It rewards people who subscribe to the plan with several financial bonuses. It starts with #500,000 to 2 million naira gifts every quarter.

The account further offers more with the 100,000 naira rent allowance. You could be the winner of the fund during the draw.

All these opportunities require you to save a minimum of #5000 every month to join the bumper crew. When you save up to that, you will qualify for the amazing gifts.

The Bumper account has been commended by many. However, some are also displeased. The bumper account holds a #5000 naira non-withdrawable fund. The balance cannot go below #5,000 no matter how you are in need of cash. It can be very discouraging.

The difficulty in winning a draw is another lamentable factor. It’s a long queue, and the probability of winning a draw is less than 1%. It is not the kind of draw a neighbour will win the previous month, and you might win the following month.

Other complaints have surrounded the plan, and some people are begging to opt-out. Here are your options in stopping the plan and becoming a normal customer again.

2 Ways To Cancel A UBA Bumper Account

These two ways would help you sign out of the plan and stop your worry while you continue banking with them.

#1. USSD Code

Most Bumper account users activated their subscription through USSD. The good news is you can do the same to leave. Dail *919*20*1# on your mobile phone. To opt-out, follow the instructions that appear on your screen.

Ensure you dial this code with your registered number. The number must be linked to your bumper account. Unconnected numbers would not be able to achieve this.

After deactivating the plan from your phone, wait patiently. It takes 48 hours to process your request. If issues arise after 48 hours, complain to the UBA customer care services. You can complain through any of the UBA’s social media handles.
Customer Care

UBA Customer care is available as an option to opt-out. The truth is, this is the easiest way. Reaching out to the UBA customer care is the best. Just tell the attendant what you need, and it will be done at the desk. You can also put a call through to the customer service through their line. You can use this number +234-700-225-5822 to contact UBA Customer care.

#2 Account Closure

You can leave UBA completely. The services of the bank might not suit you. The bumper account is just one of their many services.

If you decide to leave UBA, do the following. Visit the nearest UBA branch. Find the customer care desk and call their attention. Inform them you want to close your account.

You will get a deactivation form
You have to;

  • Fill out the form with the required info.
  • Make sure you cross-check.
  • Submit the form.

Finally, wait for further notice.

Take note that a notice to close your account must be within thirty days before closure.

Conclusion

You might be too hasty to deactivate your bumper account if you are experiencing dissatisfaction. Your ignorance about the plan might be the problem. You can check through what the plan entails and what you are to expect from the banking services.

Don’t forget, the bonuses and offers that come with the service can get to you someday. Take your time before making any decision.
